2. Why should I use LatinPhoneCard long distance?

3. How does LatinPhoneCard long distance work?
To place calls through LatinPhoneCard long distance:
1. Dial one of our access numbers
2. If calling from a registered phone number then proceed to Step 3. If you are calling from an unregistered phone number, then enter your assigned PIN.
3. Domestic calls: Enter 1+ destination number International calls: Enter 011 + country code + city code + destination number
4. Do I need to enter a PIN to make my phone calls?
No. When you sign up with LatinPhoneCard long distance you can register up to 6 phone numbers from which you use this service (home, cell phone, child's dorm-room, etc). When making calls from these registered numbers, dial your access number and then dial your destination number, no PIN is necessary. However, a PIN will be supplied to you so that if you are making calls from a non-registered phone number, you can still receive LatinPhoneCard long distance's great low rates.
5. Do I need to notify/cancel my current phone company to use LatinPhoneCard long distance?
No. Because you access LatinPhoneCard long distance via a toll free access number, you do not need to notify your phone company of your choice to use LatinPhoneCard long distance, nor do you have to cancel your current long distance carrier. LatinPhoneCard long distance is a separate service from your current phone plan.
6. Why is prepaid long distance better than regular long distance service?
Prepaid long distance is advantageous for many reasons. By prepaying for your long distance you know exactly how much money you are spending at all times. There are no surprise charges or excessive phone bills come month-end. Most significantly, however, is that post-pay long distance providers spend up to 1/3 of your phone bill for collections and bad-debt retrieval. With prepaid long distance, this money goes directly towards lowering rates for your phone calls.
7. What is the best plan for me?
LatinPhoneCard long distance offers a variety of plans created to fit every person's needs. The two major plans are the EZ Plan and the Power Plan. However, LatinPhoneCard long distance also offers certain Metro Plans specifically for calling major cities within a country. The LatinPhoneCard long distance EZ Plan has no surcharges, 1-minute rounding and no monthly fees. The EZ Plan provides a low domestic rate of 2.4 ¢ a minute. The LatinPhoneCard long distance Power Plan has a domestic rate of 2.2 ¢ a minute, no surcharges, no connection fees, 2-minute rounding and a low weekly fee of $0.69.
8. What is a "Monthly Fee"?
Most long distance providers charge a monthly fee for providing you with the services that they offer. This is typically a $4.00 - $10.00 charge per month. Also, other long distance providers charge an additional fee for calling to international locations. LatinPhoneCard long distance's EZ Plan offers you all the great services of other long distance providers, with better rates and NO monthly fees.
9. What does "No Connection Fee" mean?
If you frequently make international phone calls you have most likely paid a connection fee. Long distance providers, as well as some phone cards, will charge a connection charge that ranges from $.50 - $3.00. With connection fees, every international call costs you an initial fee to connect to a foreign destination. LatinPhoneCard long distance does NOT charge any connection fees.
10. What does "Minute Rounding" mean?
Minute rounding is the span of time to which your call length will be rounded. For example, if a phone card has 3-minute rounding and you talk on the phone for 1-minute, you will be charged for 3-minutes of talk time. LatinPhoneCard long distance offers two plans with different rounding options. The POWER Plan features 2-minute rounding, but offers the absolute lowest domestic and international rates. The EZ PLAN has 1-minute rounding and offers no monthly fees.
11. What are the rates calling back to the U.S. from a foreign country?
The rates calling back to the U.S. differ depending on what country you are calling from. Check out the rates for calling from your desired country to the United States and select other countries by using LatinPhoneCard long distance's Search Box located on the homepage of the website.
12. Can a family member or friend abroad call me using my account?
Yes. In order for a friend or family member to call you using your account you must give them your PIN. The person calling from abroad then dials the global access number that corresponds to the country they are calling from, enters your PIN, and then dials your phone number as though they were calling from the U.S. (e.g. 1 + (area code) + (phone number)).
13. What is the Automatic Recharge option?
The Automatic Recharge option allows YOU to determine the specified amount that your credit card is recharged when your account balance drops below your recharge level. By opting to use the Automatic Recharge feature, you no longer have to worry about getting disconnected mid-conversation with a friend or family member. Your LatinPhoneCard long distance account automatically recharges when your balance gets low and you can continue talking undisturbed.
14. If I run out of credit, will my call be disconnected?
One of the great advantages of LatinPhoneCard long distance is its automatic recharge feature. Upon signing up with LatinPhoneCard long distance, you decide if you would like your account to be automatically recharged when the balance gets low. This optional feature prevents unwanted disconnections that typically occur with calling cards when your account balance gets too low.
15. With the automatic recharge option, when is my account balance recharged?
Your account is recharged whenever your balance gets below your recharge level.
16. Can I use LatinPhoneCard long distance's international services from a cellular phone?
Yes. You can use LatinPhoneCard long distance to call internationally from any cellular phone that is capable of calling a toll-free number. Regular airtime charges will apply as per your contract with your cellular provider.
17. Can I use LatinPhoneCard long distance from a payphone?
Yes. However, in certain instances a 99¢ FCC regulation fee may be assessed and automatically deducted from your account.
18. Can I use LatinPhoneCard long distance to place calls from other countries?
Yes. LatinPhoneCard long distance offers great rates from abroad to the United States and select other countries.
